1) When I hit play in the editor, it starts to show the video (slowly) but without audio, the audio start after almost 5 seconds after I hit the play button. If I change the priority to VideoRedo task to maximum, it does not help. If I edit a small file (mp4 or mkv, it works, immediate sync audio/video when I press the play button).

2) When I add scenes to keep (blindy since I cannot hear the audio when I press start), let's stay I add 3 short scenes (8 sec, 6 sec, 10 sec), only the first scene will be exported.

Export format selectedv (mp4):

3) I should add that I've tested previous versions before and had similar issues (audio preview not immediate along with the video preview if the source is a huge .ts file and scenes missing sometimes when exported if the project is too big, it ends before abruptly only exporting few scenes (e.g.: 20 over 75) and a lot of jerky scenes with speed accelerated and not seekable perfectly with a video player MPC / VLC).

4) One last thing, not really "a bug" but exporting few scenes from a .ts file (30 sec) to .mp4 4000kbps Level 4.1 (double-pass) takes forever to encode. :-/ Do you take advantage of NVIDIA GPU?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling. We've seen a few reports where upgrading from an earlier version can cause a corruption that causes all sorts of mysterious issues. reinstalling typically fixes the issues.

We actually have a Intel QuickSync encoder working internally and it will likely be part of our next major release. We've looked at CUDA and OpenCL encoders but they don't provide much benefit and have quality issues. However the most recent chips from NVidia and ATI actually have their own built in encoders like QuickSync which we'll be looking into for a future release.

Well, every time I've tested VideoRedo it was a clean, fresh Windows install after computer was newly formatted so this could not be the cause. Also, I've tested it on two other computer with different video cards and processor and same thing happened.

Also, I've tested with several .ts from two different sources.

It seems all .ts who has Overall bit rate as high than 19.2 Mbps got audio/video sync issue but only with VideoRedo.
The exported video from those .ts has the same sync issue and do not integrate all scenes, only the first one!

(...)

Good thing indeed about the Intel Quick Sync...

I read that it only works if the processor’s GPU is enabled. In other words, on a desktop with a single monitor connected to a discrete GPU, you can’t use Quick Sync. It seems Cyberlink’s Media Espresso and Arcsoft’s Media Converter are already taking advantage of this new Intel feature.

Do you mind to allow the end-user to activate CUDA at their discretion for a speed boost?

Thank you.

Short sample sent but aside the audio sync how can you find why VideoRedo do not export all scenes listed and only the first one (or sometimes a few more) and how to avoid that videos exported are jerky (jump of time) or are with period without audio and also period with speed increased (often in the middle of the saved mp4 or mkv).

Some motherboards support a feature called Lucidlogix Virtu which allows you to use a discrete GPU and still have access to the encoding functionality of the built in GPU for QuickSync. You should see if your board supports that.

Unfortunately adding CUDA isn't as simple as just allowing you to install something from Nvidia and have it just work. We'd have to build it into our product which takes time and effort. Based on our research that effort is not worth it as CUDA/OpenCL based encoders aren't that fast and have some quality issues and limitations. However, as I mentioned above, both Nvidia and ATI have recently started to add discrete H.264 encoders to their GPUs to compete with QuickSync. Nvidia's is called NVEnc and ATIs is called VCE. We will be looking into add support for those in a future release. However only GPUs released in the last year or so support those technologies, so you'll need a relatively new video card to take advantage of them. (unlike CUDA and OpenCL which have been available for many years)

Thanks for taking the time to give additional info about this. :)

My Motherboard is the Asus P8H67.

According Wikipedia.org it seems the GeForce 600 Series is compatible with the NVENC technology.

NVENC is Nvidia's power efficient fixed-function encode that able to take codecs, decode, preprocess, and encode H.264-based content. NVENC specification input formats is limited to H.264 output. But still, NVENC through it limited format, can supports up to 4096x4096 encode.[10]

Like Intel’s Quick Sync, NVENC is currently exposed through a proprietary API, though Nvidia does have plans to provide NVENC usage through CUDA.[10]

The log file will have information about which scenes were actually output. You can upload the log from the Build 662 help menu, just pick the log from the day where the problem occurred. Also, refer to this thread in the comment section and if you know which scenes weren't output put that in there as well.

Note: Only two scenes test, only first one is exported and partially.
I should add that the popup output with the progress bar ends abruptly before reaching 100% (at 60% maybe).
This error is not only with .ts with high bitrate but also with all small .ts, mp4 and mkv (x264) file with bitrate around 2500kbps.

Sorry, I'm afraid I've cleaned the full log in the meantime but I copied/pasted everything as you can see at post #11, there was nothing else revelant. So, what is wrong? Could it be fixed?
