VRD Still Not Playing Nice with Hauppauge PVR Rocket Files

I reported previous issues with Hauppauge PVR Rocket files a while back and those concerns were addressed. But in doing a check recently on a new recorded file from the PVR, there are two issues that I see. First is that when the Ad-Detective is run, the scenes are marked (red lines are popping up) but the file position indicator stays where it is! At first I thought Ad-Detective wasn't working until I started seeing the markers. Next, VRD performance is VERY sluggish when moving that position indicator. Something very unusual is happening during display of these files. Other than these two issues, the files can be edited and saved with no problems. Thanks.

A few things to try...

Go to the Stream Parameters options and increase the values for min/max buffer sizes.

Go to the navigation options and set the value for "force I frame seek" to somehing other then 0. Try 9 first and then work your way back until you find the spot where it helps but doesn't make navigation too jumpy.

I will try that soon, but don't forget the primary issue with the file position indicator not moving while Ad-Detective is running.

UPDATE - Performance significantly improved by doubling min/max buffers and setting I frame seek to 3. Range of 3-7 seemed to help most.

No. The file position indicator just sits wherever it was last and never moves.

UPDATE - This has nothing to do with Hauppauge PVR at all. I just tried to load one of the MP4 files that VRD created and the same thing happens! The file position indicator never moves when Ad-Detective runs. So it is ALL MP4 files. Just coincidental that I happened to process one from the Hauppauge PVR. This is really an annoying problem since I have no idea how much of the file has been processed.

Hmmm... I'm not able to reproduce this. When I run ad scan the bar moves like it's suppose to. What OS are you using? Are you using one of the standard themes in VRD or a custom one? Have you noticed any other display issues with the navigation bar?

Windows 7 and the standard "Dark" profile. ONLY happens for MP4 files! I can make it happen by taking a WTV file, saving it with the iPad2 (720) profile, and then loading that file back into VRD. Happens 100% of the time. Other file formats that indicator moves just fine. This is a weird one, huh?

I tried reproducing here also but was unable.

Is anyone else seeing this issue?

If you want I can do a live video capture of what is happening and post it to your site to prove that I am not crazy...

Video Uploaded Showing What Goes Wrong with Ad-Detective

File has been uploaded to folder 34789 for you to watch what happens whenever I try to work on ANY MP4 file. Watch the bar after the Ad-Detective icon is clicked. You will see the red vertical lines appear and the cursor just sits at the beginning of the file until Ad-Detective finishes. Then it jumps to the end of the file. The info on the file was also uploaded and is attached here as well.

@jgrass316, If you haven't sent an email to support about the upload, please do so it gets into our work queues.

SOLVED! - I cleared the settings and everything worked normal. Then I went through my list of things I change one at a time until the problem happened. It was simple. The problem happens when I go to the Ad-Detective parameters [Common Parameters] and check the "Disable Display Update" box. If I check it, the indicator doesn't move! If I un-check it it works normal! But my preference is not to see the TV shows that I am scanning so I always check that box. And this behavior only works for MP4 files though! Good luck fixing this!
