The VideoReDo FTP upload site can be accessed via the following link:ftp://upload:upload@videoredo.net

Do not upload files unless specifically requested by VideoReDo personnel.

Do not compress files. Do not use RAR or zip or any compression method.

Please put your uploads in their own sub-folder identified by your name, message board handle, etc. When your upload has completed, send us an email ( support@videoredo.com) letting us know about the file(s).

Please also include a reference to your user name on the forum and the topic number.

Thanks.

The user id and password are both "upload".

Thanks to everyone who tested the link. Looks like its just fine. Must have been a problem with that one user's system.

Just so you know .... when I click on the link I get a couple of boxes up telling me that my proxy server isn't allowed full entry and suggests that I change my proxy server .... I just carried on clicking and came to the site.

That's a client side setup issue. Don't know what browser or internet settings may be triggering that msg.

Can you post your ftp server contact details here so an ftp client like WS_FTP Pro can transfer files to you?

I tried the drag and drop to IE with your existing link, and after 1.5 hours of upload, it was saying 5 secs to go for another hour. I had to cancel out in the end, and of course there was nothing in the folder. The file would have been about 113 MB.

Edit: Actually, a file does seem to be there of that size, maybe the cancelling didn't corrupt it.
In any case, if you do have a direct means of ftp access, that method as a choice may not be a bad idea for those with fp clients.

@CharlesC - All the details you should need are in the URL at the top of this thread:

ftp://upload:upload@videoredo.net ==

ftp server: videoredo.net
username: upload
password: upload

EDIT: oops, DanR said this already in the second post in this thread. My excuse: it's Friday afternoon. 8)

Are these the details you are looking for?

Thanks HyperReality
I had already dissected the url for that, and the videoredo.net did not work.

"Address lookup of "videoredo.net " failed. It may be misspelled, or your computer may not be connected to the network or Internet.
Also check that your DNS and local name servers are properly configured and responding."

Edit: But pinging videoredo.net gives 65.254.45.225, and that works (instead of the name)!

ftp server: 65.254.45.225
username: upload
password: upload

This looks like a DNS problem / issue with your ISP. Do me a favor and try connecting by name either later today or tomorrow and let us know if it works.

In fact, connecting to their forum also requires a name server access so I don't know why FTP wouldn't work.

Very strange. :!:

It's OK now Dan, works fine with the name only. I've left it with the ip address for now, but will put it back to the name when the address fails!

for a good time, try CORE FTP

I think IE is one of the last things I'd consider for FTP transfer.
I use something a little better, but this Core FTP is a wonderful free program that'll make FTPing a breeze.
Download version 1.3c for free, and enjoy.
Setup is as simple as putting the following into the first four Site Manager boxes when the program comes up:

Site Name: VideoReDo-FTP
Host/IP/URL: VideoReDo.Net
Username: upload
Password: upload

Now, press Connect, and you should be on.
Just remember to make a folder with your name on it at the VideoReDo site, as it's not polite to dump junk into their root.
That's in the right-hand window.

In the left-hand window you can browse your computer's folders.

A picture is worth 1k words - load it up and see. ;)

Oh, yea, and as an added benefit, since it's a real FTP client, you can resume interrupted up/downloads.
(It just won't do multi-stream/thread, but that's a feature in their pay-version and other top of the line FTP programs.)

Link needed for version 1

I managed to lose my registration key after a system crash, and it has very kindly been re-sent.
However It seems that I need a copy of version 1, as this key does not work in plus version. Does anyone know the correct link ? As I cant find it.
Thanks.

They take care of such matters direct, not on the forum
Email support@videoredo.com and they'll help you out.

And I used my registration (from a year ago) to load the latest VRD onto a new computer just recently, and didn't have a problem.
You might double check that you got all the letters correct, and didn't have any leading/trailing spaces.

Thanks for that. I thought it might be quicker thats all.
I cut and pasted directly from the email they (recently) sent me. And obviously it doesn't work. I just hoped that someone might know of a direct link. I assumed from the email that the reg key was for v.1.
Thanks

I clicked the link to your FTP site for uploading samples of problems files. I have never seen one of these pages before not having done any FT's before.

All that I see on this page are what appears to be files that were transferred by others previously. What I don't see is any way to send my file this way. What am I missing?

Click on the menu in Internet Explorer: File>New>Folder and create a new folder with a unique name.

Then drag and drop or copy and paste your file into the folder.

How do I access the FTP site? I downloaded the coreftp program and entered the info provided by Anole. Core FTP returned the following error:

Can't establish connection --> videoredo.net:21 @ Sat Jan 27 15:13:06 2007 (10054-38) An existing connection was forcibly closed by remote host.

Thanks.

I just downloaded and installed CoreFTP.

I followed Anole's instructions and it worked well.

You might try again now to see if there was a temporary glitch.

...or...

...yea, or possibly some sort of protection program running on your computer...
One of the many Anti Virus, Firewall, or similar programs....
....maybe even WinXP SP2? or SP2 configued wrong?
In which case, it'd be the computer , and not the CoreFTP nor VideoReDo site at fault....
....just thinking out loud...
