Any idea what's wrong with the video?

"Frame rate mode : Variable"

Pretty sure "Variable" is not allowed in VRD.

Thanks to both of you for your quick response.
Is that new to V5? After I wrote my post I opened the file with V4 and I was able to process it correctly. The V4 output file has a constant frame rate.

That shouldn't work in v4 either. Did you get a bunch of resync frames removed in the output complete dialog?

The reason it's not opening is probably something else though. v4 and v5 can both open VFR files, it will just cause issues with output. I'm guessing that in v4 you have a different setting for "frame rate" setting in Tools->Options->H.264. Try "from container" instead, I bet that works.

VideoReDo WILL open VFR (variable) files. Savinging them may or may not be problematic. MediaInfo isn't very careful about how it reports a VFR setting, so I wouldn't use that as a guide to how well your file will save. Even one frame slightly off, which would typically not bother VRD, will trigger a "variable" in MediaInfo.

In any case, if after following Dan203's advice you still have issues, let us know.
