Stutter Stop - dvd playback

Been using VRD for many years and have authored near a thousand dvds from my own footage and have boasted here and elswehere that vrd is the best program to use for dvd creation because it produces the best video from my camera files. For the past six months however I've had to resort to a Free maker of DVDs soley because the dvds produced by vrd stutter and stop and I've had many a client complain requiring a redo and remail of a disc.
This started around version 420 and persists still in version 502707 where a few seconds into the dvd the video playback freezes but the progress bar continues. The original files xavc-s 60p from a sony ax100 when encode by vrd are still clearly superior to the free version but what use if the dvd won't function properlyvrd-free.jpg The top one is vrd note the woman's face is more detailed and with better color and the grass is less smeared in vrd

There hasn't been any significant change in DVD authoring for a long time and I'm not aware of any comments / issues about our DVD authoring Do you remember which V4 build you started seeing issues? Can you upload some sample source material that we can use to duplicate your DVD authoring?

Also, can the issue be duplicated with software playback or does it require a physical disk and DVD player to reproduce?

tks
upload_5431533be3071 is the authored dvd which just runs a moment then stops
If you want the source files too I will upload but I've used both avchd and xavc-s with the same result
The exact version can't be sure but it was 3rd week of June when the trouble started at my end
tks again

I have a personal perception that 2pass is better so thats what I do most often. Could that be causing my issue?

just authored several dvds using single pass and no playback issues to report
Guess I'll stick to single pass
tks

If you want specific 4k tasks sau the word

When I do test dvd disks I use rewritables. It saves throwing away a disk.

Of course if you need Dual layers don't think there is a choice.

What exactly didn't work? I thought the single pass was working for you. Are you starting with 4K material or HD material?

the dvd I produced using vrd didn't work
Here is a bit on youtube showing the problem. The authored dvd does not play propery as In Stutter and Stop
The source files are 28m avchd 60p 1920x1080 m2ts from a sony but this happens irrespective of source files used single pass

Is there a factory default start up reset?

And it is 1st VOB file which is gibbelled

@halfpipe, Open the source file and click on Tools>Show Program Info. Using the copy button, paste those results here. Thanks.

Create the disc to an ISO file first and see if that plays okay (VLC can play the ISO directly or use Virtual CloneDrive or similar).
Then use your favorite ISO burner to make the real DVDs once you've tested.

What's happening to the audio while the video is frozen?

Produced a couple more dvds with the same unfortunate results the halt at the 2 minute mark but the progress indicator keeps counting and a couple minutes later the video starts again. vrd joind up the files on one and the sony browser playmemories joined the other but neither "work" the free dvd maker had no issues with the same footage in making a dvd
