Still issues Large Buffer Malloc

I have still issues with crashes of VRD caused by Large Buffer Malloc.
I'm using .wtv files (~8 Gb) and try to convert them into MP4 or MPEG2 or DVD.
I get systematically a crash when trying to save and compress (force transcode, bitrate menu change).
I did several trials (quick stream fix, only one audio stream, changing the size of buffer in the hidden parameters, ...) but same result.
What is strange is that I succeed in saving into .MKV format and only in that format.

Last build used : 4.20.8.650

When this happens check the task manager. How much memory is VRD using? How much free memory do you have for the whole system?

HI Dan,
I have enough memory in the system see attached srenn copy at the time I got the LargeBuffer error. Action done : conversion of .WTV file (H264) to DVD.
Attached is a screen copy of the memory management.

That's weird. Can you do me a favor and try switching VRD to english and then try again. I just want to make sure this isn't something to do with our localization routines.

As a separate test please make sure both the source file and the output file name only have english characters. Just to be sure this isn't an issue with unicode file names.

Hi Dan,
OK I've completely uninstalled then reinstalled VRD english, but ... the same VRD has crashed. See attached copy of memory.
Process : tried to convert MKV file (H264) to DVD format via DVD authoring menu.

Apart of this, I did not understand why we can output to MP4 but we cannot reopen the file (codec not supported) ?

Try opening the MKV file in MediaInfo, switch to text view and copy/paste the info here. I want to see if there is anything about the file that might cause an issue.

Attached is the MediaInfo of the MKV file.

I also did a short WTV file that generates a crash after a few minutes. I can upload it to yout ftp (280 Mb).

Yes the WTV does exactly the same (this is the original recordered TV program) that I succeeded in saving into MKV with size reduction.

How far into the file does it have the issue? Both WTV and MKV have headers at the start of the file that are required to parse them correctly. So you have to start from the beginning. If you can do that without the file being too big then yes upload a sample using our new upload form...

http://www.videoredo.net/UploadFiles.htm

Note: You can use Tools->Trim & copy source in VideoReDo to grab a chunk of a file. If you know where the error occurs then set the end marker a little past that point then use the "use selection markers" option in the T&C dialog to grab the right amount.

Hi,
I just have uploaded a sample of .WTV file.
Method :
Open the file Test file MARK38.WTV
Save as .MPEG2 Program stream (*.mpg)

VRD crashes at about 2/3 of the process (after about 5 minutes).

The WTV file has been created by VRD from a Live TV record.

I am now having the very same problem with fast frame conversion to elementary stream for a remux later I have 32gigs of memory of which usage never gets above 12 to 16. I have had VDREDO for quite a while and never had this happen and I have pushed this thing to perform in the face of other programs open at the same time including but not limited to other video renderers. I notice you did not resolve this matter. I would love to get it over with.
