I have the following cards in my PVR machine
DigiTV digital tuner card
PVR 350 analogue tuner card
Sigma X-Card decoder

For any recording done on DIGITV using TS record or on the PVR350, when editied with Video redo, there is no sound when played back via the X-Card ( I know this problem has been reported before )

has there been any progress on this one ? I can send files if needed.

thanks

Charles

Yes, please upload a short clip to our FTP site. You are correct, it has been reported before, but we haven't spent much time on it.

Here's upload link, please post or send an email when you've finished the upload. ftp://videoredo:videoredo@ftp.drdsystems.com/uploads/
I have uploaded 2 files, both edited with vrd. one has audio when played through the X card, the other does not. Both were made with the same settings in Video Redo.
The directory I created callled chuckyt has both the files.

let me know how you go

thanks

I checked out both of your files. The one labeled "ct test audio works" has 44.1KHz audio which is usually used by VCD and SVCD recordings The "test clip PVR 350 4.mpg" has standard DVD audio of 48KHz.

I don't know how this difference impacts the Sigma card. Is there any chance you can test to see if the audio sampling rate makes a difference?

I will dig into this one - I don't think it makes a difference - I have been trying the beta of DigiTV 3.12b3 with the option of recording directly to an MPEG2 PS file & all of the files generated by DigiTV will play back on the sigma card - I will try to take one of the TS streams and a PS stream of the same program & see if I can make it error & let you know.

I will be overseas for a couple of weeks, so this will slow me down a little ;-)
