Reproducible crash (force close) using Elementary Stream Multiplexer

- Tested with
Windows 7, 10, and Wine

- Non-working version
VRDTVS-6-4-88-795a.exe

- Last known working version
VRDTVSH264-4-21-10-681.exe
VRDTVSH264-5-3-83-763a.exe

- Issue
Reproducible crash (force close) using Elementary Stream Multiplexer.

- Steps to reproduce
  1. Launch TVSuite
  2. Open Video (any video)
  3. Without making edits, save video as Elementary Streams
  4. Close TVSuite
  5. Launch TVSuite
  6. Tools > Elementary Stream Multiplexer… > Video > select .h264 file > (chose output) Profile > Mux
  7. ‘Output Processing Completed’ errors show Video output frames: 0, Audio output frames: 0
  8. (click) OK
** Crash ** (crash fixed, but output still fails with errors)

- Expected behaviour
Tools > Elementary Stream Multiplexer… > Video > select .h264 file > (chose output) Profile > Mux, should create a video from chosen Profile format.

- Other information
Before ‘Output Processing Completed’ report appears, and subsequent crash, a video of 188 bytes is created.

Opening any video, then, Tools > Elementary Stream Multiplexer… > Video > select .h264 file > (chose output) Profile > Mux, prevents a crash, but output video is only as long as whatever video is currently open in TVSuite.

Based on above findings, could this be connected with the newly implemented match source?

Earlier output profile tests were mainly TS, and MP4.

Just tried (with Windows 7, 10 , and Wine) all output profiles in turn, they all crash on V6 while performing the above steps.

Confirmation version 797a fixes the crash, thanks!

While testing, noticed the Output Processing Completed errors mentioned in 7. still occur though while performing the above steps.

Testing 800b, while no longer crashing, video output still fails with the errors mentioned in first post step 7.

Video clip originally extracted from a SD DTV broadcast using TVSuite V4. Seems any video (also from other sources) fails while performing the steps in the first post.

In case helpful, MediaInfo full video and audio details.

I tried ES muxing here with build 801 and it worked fine. Can you upload your ES files to us, and a copy of your log file? Don't forget to send an email to support.

Thanks.

Thank you, good to hear. While performing tests, did you close TVSuite after creating the ES files, relaunch and mux the ES files without any other video loaded?

Ask since muxing works if original video is still loaded in the interface, or another video is loaded (in the latter case, other ES files will mux, but will be clipped to the duration of whatever video is already loaded in the interface).

ES muxing seems to fail in V6 while no video is pre loaded in the interface, but works with V4.

That worked here. Can you send me your log file to support?

Interesting, wonder if connected with software encoding (imagine you're using hardware (GPU/s)).

Will perform the test again, then send a fresh log file.

Update:
Log sent.
