No theTVDB Lookup after TiVo Decoder Proccessing

Because of an error I was getting during QSF, I had to process a show with TiVo Decoder as mentioned HERE, but when copying the (now .mpg) file back into the monitored folder, I noticed the VAP log doesn't indicate that a theTVDB lookup wasn't performed. This happened twice.

On the second file, I stopped processing, moved the file out of monitor folder then started processing again to make VAP "forget" the file existed. After the file was processed by TiVo Decoder, I copied it back to the monitor folder. VAP showed it as TRANSFERRING then started the QSF and Comskip but now theTVDB lookup.

No big deal I just thought I would mention it. Anything I should have done different?

I might have to look at the code or do some experiments to be sure of my answer (and it's not convenient to do that tonight). However, VAP will only do a TVDB search if it has the Series Title and either the Episode Name or the Air Date as keys for the search. For an mpg file the only way it could get these items is by parsing the input file name with a suitable template. Are you doing that? Did the name change during your trials so that it would parse correctly in one trial but not in another?

Also theTVDB.com apparently had an outage a couple of days ago. If VAP tried to do a search then it would have given a failure message in the log.

What version of VAP were you using?

I'm using VAP 0.68.

The two shows I had to process through TiVo Decode were:

"No Ordinary Family - ''No Ordinary Animal'' (Recorded Mar 22, 2011, KNXV).tivo" and
"V - ''Mother's Day'' (Recorded Mar 15,2011, KNXV).tivo"

The filename, after processing, was the same just that the extension changed from .tivo to .mpeg.

Here's an excerpt from the VAP log file:

Code:
3/28/2011 5:27:03 PM 0 file ignore keys were read
3/28/2011 5:27:03 PM Read 2 input filename metadata parsing template(s)
3/28/2011 5:27:03 PM Read 0 title translation data lines
3/28/2011 5:27:03 PM Read 14 profile match list items
3/28/2011 5:27:03 PM Metadata-based templates:

3/28/2011 5:27:03 PM   Title = "{title} {seasonNum}{epNum} {epTitle}"
3/28/2011 5:29:31 PM Started QSF, input: V - ''Mother's Day'' (Recorded Mar 15, 2011, KNXV).mpeg

What are your 2 input filename metadata parsing templates? One way to copy those is find the .txt file in your %APPDATA%\VAP folder -- I forget the exact name but it should be obvious. (Or get them from the Advanced Configuration page of the GUI)

Ah, good call, they are:

Code:
.mpg :: {title} - {eptitle}
.mpg :: {title} {seasonnum}{epnum} ''{eptitle}''
I'll add .mpeg entries to account for the way TiVo Decode saves the files.

Thanks.

BTW, it's VAPmetaParseTemplates#.txt (where # is the VAP instance number).
