No audio from a .mkv file after edit

Using videos (a TV series) that was converted from DVD format to .mkv, I want to make a series of 'clips' from select scenes throughout the series. But, the edited clip has no audio. I choose to keep the same format (.mkv).
I'm running a slightly older VideoRdDo v 5.1.1 in Win7 Pro (if that matters)

Below is the program info of the 'cut'. This was the 2nd try with slightly change audio parameters, the 1st try, all audio parameters were 'auto'. If you need more info please ask. ;)

I should add, these files play fine w/audio in VRD, it's only the clip that has no audio. Is there a limitation with .mkv?
In 'Advanced/Edit Output Profile/Audio Stream Properties', the audio source is lasted as "x202 - AC3 (5.1ch)"

A separate question, why are all the output formats "Major recodes" except the 1st two (TiVo)?? And why does a mkv to mkv require any 'recode'?

Thanks in advance. ;)

Upgrade to the latest beta. You can keep both versions by installing the new version in it's own folder.
( I have a dozen old versions installed and usable)

Was this a 'bug' or a limitation of the version I have, or something else, where the current version works??

The latest "5.1.1" that I see in the beta thread is from 2015... Very OLD.

If you are having a problem the first thing to do is install the latest version and see if that fixes it.

Version 6 with H265 should be out "soon" which may mean this year (or next).
I'm hoping for Xmas myself. :)

I'm looking for anyome that can confirm if this is an actual problem, not something 'on my end'.

If you open the cut file in VideoReDo the audio works? What other program/device are you trying to play the file in where the audio doesn't work?

The selection from the original, the audio plays in VRD, it's the copied/edited version that doesn't in VRD or LAPlayer. I didn't try any other player.
I decided to do the project using .mp4 as a finished container. No hassle. I just though keeping the same as the material I was working from made more sense. ;)

Well that's weird because in VideoReDo both MP4 and MKV use essentially the same output code, so it's unlikely that one would work and the other not. There could be a bug in the version you're using. You really should try the beta and see if it clears up the issue.
