NEW!!! Attention TiVo Users

The certificate in the TiVo Desktop package expired recently so it stopped working. Since they discontinued it years ago it's unlikely to ever get an upgrade. So from now on pyTivo and kmttg are the only ways to do TiVo to PC transfers.

Though posted in April it was working for me until 2 weeks ago. Is there any way to edit the certificate or do I have to find another solution to transfer recording from my Bolt+? I had pyTivo Desktop recommended to me but it says "No Tivos found" even after opening up the Port in Windows Firewall.

Dan...can you possibly advise what certificate this is? I just spoke to TiVo support on this since the website CLAIMS to still support the product. They advise that it's being worked on but they don't have an ETA for fixing. I could go further if I knew exactly what was no longer working...if you know. Thanks in advance

There is an HTTPS certificate built into the HTTP server that TiVo Desktop uses to talk to the TiVo itself. The product hasn't been updated in so long that the certificate expired and it'll no longer work. TiVo Desktop is no longer supported by TiVo, which is why I wrote pyTivo Desktop in the first place. Unless there is some reason you really need TiVo Desktop I'd just ignore it and use pyTivo Desktop or kmttg instead.
