MJPG support?

I have several dozen files of captured vhs tapes that are apparently in mjpg format. Does v6 happen to support editing mjpg without recodes? I hate having to do major encodes while I'm cutting out commercials. Thanks for any info!

No. The only native formats we support are MPEG-1/2, H.264 and HEVC. All others are opened by ffmpeg, decoded, and fed into video redo as uncompressed frames which means they always need a major recode on save.

Actually, I downloaded a MJPEG MOV file from the GH1, and it opens straightaway in the latest VRD6.
I also "think" some older AVI MJPEG files opened in a much earlier version of VRD+.

It'll open it, but it'll force you to recode on output. We don't support smart editing of mjpg.

Got it, thanks. I don't know why one wouldn't recode the output -- MJPEG is not a delivery codec, and is rather cumbersome.
