How to delete 'Set Selection' Start/End points & save only current selection instead of all;

I want to select short segments to save separately (highlights). Anywhere from 1 to 15 minutes in length, all separate 'saves' each with a different file name based on the material they came from.

1. I don't see anyway to either delete/cancel existing selection marks (start & end). If you want to change any that are already set, all I found is re-load that video to clear out those marks. (I did find how to move them, but I found issues with that if you move one before the other is re-marked first))
2. The other, even worse problem is doing multiple 'cuts' and saves More than one selections), keeps including previous selections, not just the current selection. IOW's it's creating a 'joiner' save type of project, not separate selections. How can I save only the current one I just set, ignoring any marked previously?

Neither of the above should have these issues.

You have to select one area and "save" that one off and then do another selected area.

On the "Save As" window there is a "Queue to batch" check box that will let you
stack up a load of operations and run them all at a later time in the
"Tools" > "Start Batch Manager"

And there are "Undo" and "Redo" options in the "Edit" menu up top.

??? Huh?

Thanks for the reply but,
I don't want to do any 'batch' operation.
The undo doesn't clear the selection in or out points.
Only certain functions register with Undo, not Selection Points.

If you don't want "Batch" then you have to mark and save each segment you want
off to a separate file one at a time.
Clear the previous selection, mark new segment and save it.

That's what I was doing, but I didn't see the way to delete previous edit points until I just now saw, buried in the low right corner 'Remove selected scenes'. One would logically figure moving the edit points would take the focus away from any previous edit, especially since I did not choose the option to join anything.

Thanks Dan, I'll take a look. What I was expecting was right click options, delete/clear, but they weren't there.

Since you mentioned these mostly hidden and/or buried output options, is there any place you can directly access them w/o accessing the 'Save as' function??

Another option. Select the portion you want to keep, click "Trim Unselected" and click OK if prompted to replace existing cut. Queue selection to batch. Repeat for each segment. Then run batch when you're done.
