For security purposes this program will not run while system debuggers are active....

This just happened to me again today. In separate software (http://locate32.cogit.net/) I was searching for a video file with the word "Armageddon" in it and all hell broke loose. I had VideoReDo Batch Manager open and running. It had processed a few files, then the debugger error popped up and rejected subsequent files (marked "failed"). I got a few subsequent errors about VideoReDo not being registered with COM and about needing to be run once as administrator.

After locating this old thread, I saw the reference to "Armageddon". I reopened Locate32 and deleted any references to "Armageddon" in my searches and search results. I was then able to reopen VideoReDo and the Batch Manager proceed normally. At no time did any file I was processing in Videoredo have the word "Armageddon". I have also typed "Armageddon" in this message multiple times without Videoredo being distracted.

To confirm all this, I redid an "Armageddon" search in Locate32. VRD Batch Manager continued normally with the file it was processing, but the error popped up on the next file. I closed the error window. The file was kicked from the queue as "failed". I immediately deleted the search results from locate 32 without closing VRD. VRD started to process the next file and successfully completed it.

It was nice to know I no longer have to restart the computer or even VRD when this error pops up. Interestingly, having "Armageddon" on my clipboard doesn't bother VRD.

This is truly bizarre.

I think Armageddon is the name of a tool, or a variant, used to hack the security system we use for VRD. The security system has checks in place that will shut down and protect the software when it detects certain things. Apparently searching for the word Armageddon can somehow trigger that protection. It's part of the security system we use, not VRD itself, so there is really nothing we can do about it.

It's part of the security suite we use to encrypt and protect the software from theft. We don't have access to the source code and the company that made it has since gone out of business, so there is really nothing we can do other then switch to a different security system which would require a major overhaul of our whole key/upgrade system. That's unlikely to happen until v6.

Do you know what words / names / strings it's sensative to?

Hello

I'll try rebooting ... no ...

Started working ...

I had three files scanning in comskip by kaashoek (donators version)... hmmm ...

Great now I get to confirm the commercial cuts in that file ...

which was Limitless-S01E10-Armageddon-21702942-0.ts which won't load in VideoRedo TVSuite V4 last beta

and VideoRedo won't load if it's open in "any" program.

Thanks for your time,
Bobby

I don't understand what you said there at all. Can you maybe explain what you're doing in more detail?

There's something in our license manager which is looking for open files and/or applications that contain the string "Armageddon". Rename that file and you should be OK.
