Feedback beta 466 zoom

This new feature is really great and greatly speeds up editing, ie trim start/end...
Would it be possible to enhance further ie remember zoom presets ie say Z+1, Z+2...to Z+9 ie 9 zoom presets to user preferences

Also ability when in zoom to hit home and/or end to navigate to start/end of material being edited

This is a great function

Glad you like it. FYI, home/end jumps to the start end of the zoomed timeline. Shift+home/end goes to the beginning or end of the file.

nice feature indeed, although i personally got no use for it as my files are mostly max 2 hours long and i'm faster with the two sliders & thumbnail editing.

Ditto! Set your navigation settings correctly and you can whizz through your recordings using just your mouse wheel and Ctrl & Shift keys.

I must be really dense because I cannot find such an option setting.

Holding down the shift key and clicking on Tools is no different than just clicking on Tools.

The only difference in holding down shift while clicking on Options is that I get an option to list the manual settings.

I can't find it under any of the sections. Is there a reason this configuration setting is so hard to find?

Its on the manual settings page. Its "Allow Navigation to be zoomed". 7th line down.

Sorry, thought that page was just a listing of option settings, so I didn't read them all. Because the page was not displayed like all of the other pages, where one sets options, I went no further with it.

Is there a reason why the options on this page aren't formatted like the options settings on all of the other pages? It sure had me fooled.

This page is for "hidden options". Options which either shouldn't normally be changed or for features that are still in beta. Once a feature comes out of beta, it will be moved to a standard option page.

We can add an option to this page in just a few minutes while adding it a formatted dialog takes a lot more work.

Nice and useful addition, but I have a suggestion: rather than using the secondary time-line, which actually disables its extremely useful features, it would be better to create a third one to handle the specific zoom navigation.

Thanks!

OK, understand. Thanks for the explanation.

BTW, the description for getting there should be: Tools->Shift+Options

The other description, Shift+Tools->Options tells me to hold down shift, click on tools, release shift and click on options. That didn't work :)
