Failure to render

I am using V6. After cuts are selected, save is selected, but video fails saving. A yellow exclamation point appears.

hello.
suggestion: attach the log or something with more information. otherwise you may as well have stated the moon seemed yellowish 13 days ago ;)

Thanks. Entire log file is too large, it won't post. I was able to upload to support. I don't know what part of log I could copy and paste that would be the most value.

First thing to try is run the file through QuickStream Fix first, then edit the fixed file. This will usually fix the problem. If that doesn't work then send us your log to support AT videoredo.com

Did you email us at support? Files aren't checked until we receive an email.

Which file are you having problems with? Is it Batwoman - 1X01? If that's the file, there's a problem with the frame rate. The file is marked as constant frame rate at 29.92, but probably should be 29.97. Eventually this can lead to dropped frames or stalling on output.

When you recoded with Handbrake did you disable variable frame rate? VideoReDo doesn’t support variable frame rate but it's the default when you encode with Handbrake.

also why not open the WTV or DVR-MS directly in VideoReDo?

Funny thing. I did that exact routine, open wtv direct with VideoReDo, last evening and it worked perfectly. I did change up to a constant of 29.97, in Handbrake, and the result file was very small as I hoped. I wonder if I could rerun several files thru Handbrake with these changes and then load VideoReDo. Would VDR6 find them acceptable? Your thoughts?

There is an easier way to do this. Well two actually...

1) Open the original WTV file in VideoReDo, make your edits, save to a Force Recode profile that emulates the same settings you're using in Handbrake. Resulting file is both edited and recoded in one pass.

2) Open the original WTV in VideoReDo, make your edits, save to a Smart profile. This should be fast. Open resulting file in Handbrake and recode that instead.

This was VideoReDo is working with the original file instead of the recoded one, which should help save quality and incompatibility.

The original WTV is no longer available. I modified the mp4 but I still cannot save in vrd6 after cuts are marked. Can you see if there is another way to save the mp4? I am uploading the log file now.

Yes, if you re-run them through HB at constant frame rate HB will re-write the file.

Thanks, I did that but after selecting cuts I still get the yellow exclamation point. I am uploading the log file now.

Are you saving as an MP4 file? We may have found the issue. Try saving as an MKV file instead to see if it completes.
