Error "SMPT-302M Audio requires TVSuite V4 or later"

I've downloaded the lastest beta version of TVS 4 H.264.
I opened a .m2ts file and I got this error. "no PID specified when trying to open a transport stream".
So I ticked the Tools->Options->Stream Parameters "Ignore transport stream maps".
Now I get this error. "SMPT-302M Audio requires TVSuite V4 or later"
WTF!!!
It tells me I should be using the program that I'm currently using or a version that has not been released yet!!!

When you use the "Ignore transport stream map" setting it tries to determine the audio and video codecs based on pattern matching the actual bytes in the packets. It's not always 100% accurate. In your case it seems to be recognizing the audio stream as SMPTE-302M, which is a professional format and requires an extra module that we only include with professional versions of VRD.

You should open the m2ts in MediaInfo. I bet the reason it wont open is because either the video is VC-1 or the audio is DTS, neither of which we support.

The problem is the audio. We do not support PCM audio in TS files. We probably could, but until now I've never actually seen PCM used in a TS. Can you use the Trim & Copy tool in VRD to grab the first 50MB and upload it to our FTP...

http://www.videoredo.net/msgBoard/showthread.php?t=15807

In the mean time if you can remux it to .mpg, .mp4 or .mkv then it should open. Or if you can just find something to demux it to elementary streams then you should be able to use the ES muxer in VRD to remux it to a .mpg that will open.

Soon after I uploaded the file and sent an email to support. I received this message in an email on the 19th May.
"Your support request has been received and will be responded to within 24 hours."
It's now eight days later and still no responce!

Your file has been downloaded and I've looked through the code in MediaInfo that allows it recognize the audio. However the change needed to support it in VideoReDo is bigger then you'd expect so it could be a while before we can get to this. It's on the list though, so we should get to it eventually.

I'm using the demo of TVS so I guess it will be expired before the problem is fixed.

I don't understand why that the TVS can edit more video formats than VRD can! In my opinion the TVS should be able to edit the same videos that VRD but with the option to author a DVD.

There are actually 3 versions of VRD. Plus is a basic MPEG-2 editor. TVS v3 is MPEG-2 with DVD. And TVS v4 which has the extra codecs all the advanced encoding features. We've discussed the possibility of releasing an H.264 version of Plus, but right now we're focusing on getting everything we want added to TVS v4 first. (we're a small company with limited development resources)
