Error setting output options

Hi,
I tried to cut a h.264 file and failed ;)
Here is the video information:

If I want to save ist I'll get the following Message:

I did not change the output options. The only thing I did was audio synchronisation. But also without any editing of the file (open, set start frame, set end frame 5 minutes later, try to save) it failes.
Any suggestion?

I'm getting the same error, but only with TS streams from a couple of foreign blu-ray movies I bought recently. I notice that the frame rate on these movies is shown as 24.00 instead of the usual 23.976. I tried extracting with TSMuxer from the original disk, changing the frame rate to 23.976, and those can be edited without errors. Unfortunately, the audio is totally out of synch.

Can one of you do a Trim & Copy and send us a sample of one of these 24fps videos? The reason it's not working is because we don't actually support 24fps video. I think we might be able to add it, but I'll need a sample to test all aspects.

I uploaded a sample called 'rabne-sample.ts' to the folder /maryah topic 15962

EDIT: The Trim & Copy function doesn't add an extension, so I added the .TS; probably that should have been .m2ts, since it was from the original blu-ray structure... plays for me in MPC-HC either way though.

Did your already received and checked a part of the video from user "maryah"? Or should I upload a small part of my video too?

It doesn't work with version 595 too. Same error message.
Is it necessary to do some "finetuning" after the update to version 595. I heard about changing files on the computer manually after the update.

I have the same problem (Error setting output options), and the vidoo is an mp4 H.264 encoded 30 fps 1500 kbps bitrate. My version is 4.20.6.610.

H264 and 614

I was seeing the same "error setting output options" when doing an edit of a H264 file. I tried 614, don't get the error but there's no video stream. Only the first frame or two plays back.

By format I meant what mux type. (i.e. TS, MP4, MKV, etc...) If you're using MP4 or MKV try this... hold the Shift key and click Tools->Options. This will bring up a hidden list of options. Near the bottom is one called "Leave SPS/PPS in MP4/MKV H.264 frames", set it to true. Also make sure the one just above it, called "Use FFmpeg for MP4" is set to true as well. (it should be by default) Now try outputting your file again.

If you're not outputting to MKV or MP4, or that doesn't help, let me know and we can try something else.

Dan

P.S. The next beta will actually support opening FLV files directly. So you wont have to convert them first. Should be out in a few days.

Dan - I didn't see the options you mentioned, attached is a list I had that was copied to the clipboard while the file was loaded.

I'm pretty sure the file I'm using is MP4, when I do "Save Video As..." it defaults to MP4 and the options button on the file save dialog (as well as the file type) suggests MP4 everywhere.

Let me know what you think...

(opening FLV's directly is very cool)

Do we have a sample? If not, can you upload a small one to the FTP. We are a day or two from releasing the next beta, so would like to check this out ASAP.

Those options only exist in the 614 beta. You mentioned above that you tried that, do you still have it installed? If not reinstall it and then look for those options. They should be #63 and #64.

Ok, I did have both versions installed and checked the options with the wrong shortcut the first time - in 614 both were set to true, but...

I ran through the cuts again and I can't reproduce the problem on two different machines. I can on the third, the original machine, but I'm guessing I have a problem with playback, because the others are fine. I don't think this is a videoRedo problem.

Let me know if you need any more info - but I think we're good.
