Just now when I tried to create a DVD with a new installation of 570, I got the following error message. What's is the likely problem?

2009-02-22 19:33:30 TitleSupport::CreateTitleBitmapsFromXML - Failed to create titleOCX
2009-02-22 19:33:31 BuildDVDMenus - Failed to create menu bitmaps
2009-02-22 19:33:31 Failure in BuildDVDMenu
2009-02-22 19:56:42 DVD Creating log: C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\DVD_Volume.dvd

Try reinstalling VideoReDo

If that does not resolve your issue, try to register it manually by going to Start->Run and typing this...

regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\VideoReDoTVSuite\VRDTitler.ocx"
and hitting OK.

I think I'm in the same boat.

I just dloaded & installed a copy of 570 on a new Vista (32) based laptop. Tried a simple one title DVD & got that same error. I had started the session with the app running as administrator.

2009-02-24 19:54:22 TitleSupport::CreateTitleBitmapsFromXML - Failed to create titleOCX
2009-02-24 19:54:22 BuildDVDMenus - Failed to create menu bitmaps
2009-02-24 19:54:22 Failure in BuildDVDMenu
2009-02-24 19:54:37 DVD Creating log: C:\Users\Schoeneck\Documents\DVD_Volume-1.dvd

Uninstall/reinstall produced the same result.

Tried the manual registration & got the following pop up error window:

The module "C:\Program Files\VideoReDoTVSuite\VRDTitler.ocx" was loaded but the call to DLLRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80040200.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Do you have UAC enabled?

Register the component from an elevated command prompt. Right click on the
icon for Command Prompt on the start menu and select Run as Administrator.

You will be prompted by UAC to approve the elevation. Once the command
prompt window is open, run your regsvr32 command from that window and it
should succeed.

Thanks, that did the trick (my first Vista machine and I'm still getting used to the security differences...).

With the registration done, the DVD production went through with no problem. Roughly 11 minutes to go from a 3.38 GB mpg to a 3.4 GB iso on the new laptop.

Thanks for finding this. We've been able to duplicate it here. This problem started with Build 569, but if you already had the titler registered and didn't do an actual uninstall of BUild 568 (or earlier) then the titler component remained registered.

I haven't had a chance to verify the reg fix on my XP machine. It appears that you have identified the problem. The machine giving the problem is a new build, so VRD has not been installed on it before.

New install will definately have the problem. Just run the regsvr32 and it will be OK. Will get it fixed in 571.
