I have a TIVO Premiere. Using Tivo Desktop, I can copy FIOS H.264 files to my PC, but I can't open them with VideoReDO. Is there a better way to get these files into an editable form?

Are you using VideoReDo Plus or TVSuite? You need TVSuite v4 or v5 to be able to edit H.264 files.

Tools so far: Tivo Premiere->Tivo Desktop->Video ReDo TVSuite v5.1.1.722. I have avoided the Tivo Desktop "fast transfer". I get a message saying "Video program stream not found" when I try to open the file in TVSuite. I don't have any problems with standard Tivo MPEG-2 files. This is the first time I wanted to edit Tivo files that were in the Verizon H.264 format (Emma 4-part mini-series). They still play fine on the Premiere.

I finally found/figured out what I was doing wrong for Verizon H.264 files. For Tivo Desktop, in Preferences, Under File Transfer Speed, "Use the fastest ..." must be checked to retrieve programs that are H.264 encoded. When I did this, the file format was compatible with Video Redo. Maybe this will help someone in the future who runs into the same issue.
