( this is the ONLY time this has happened.)

Imported a dvd folder as a dvd.mpg and the audio reads out as...

--------------------------------------- Very Wrong
dvd-mpg.mpg

Audio Stream: 1 (Primary)
Codec AC3 Format DVD VOB
Channels 3.1 Sub stream id x80
Bit rate 40 Kbps Sampling rate 44100
Sample size 16 bits
-----------------------------------------

Import dvd folder as a dvd-mpg.ts

---------------------------------------------is Correct, No frames removed -ever.
dvd-mpg.ts

Audio Stream: 1 (Primary)
Codec AC3 Channels 2.0
Language eng PID x1001
PES Stream Id xBD Bit rate 192 Kbps
Sampling rate 48000 Sample size 16 bits
---------------------------------------------------

Was quite a puzzle as the dvd folder import to a dvd-mpg.mpg with a QSF has NO Audio frames removed!
But a simple fast frame copy after that removed 24,000 audio frames.

Then I noticed the very wrong audio listing for the dvd-mpg.mpg VRD Pro import.

Going to try the non Pro VRD. That is probably going to mess up all my Pro X264 profiles... Oh well.
Will list what happens here sortly.

EDIT.........
I dropped the dvd-mpg.mpg file into the non Pro VRD 761a and it listed the correct audio properties.
Pro did NOT.

EDIT.....
Saving the misread mpg file off (fast frame copy) in VRD 761a
corrects the problem with Pro misreading the audio properties.

Can you please upload a sample of the source file so we can look into the issue.
Ok, just uploaded short file that displays the audio properties read failure by VRD Pro 746m.
(if imported from dvd folder as a dvd-mpg.mpg)

And sent Email.

What do you mean "if imported from dvd folder as a dvd-mpg.mpg"?

The import DVD folder feature in VRD requires VOB files and an IFO, not mpg files.

Should have said imported from a vob dvd folder and out (QSF) into a mpg.mpg file with the "MPEG-2 Program Stream" profile.
That is the Profile that mis reads the audio properties.

The Profile that creates (QSF) a mpg.ts file reads the audio properties correctly.
Have not tested any other Profiles.

Thanks,

OK so to be able to test this I need the source DVD folder. I need to be able to recreate the problem not just see the results.

Hmm, You sent me an upload link in your Email and I uploaded
the vob dvd files that I created from my short test file.

When placed into a VIDEO_TS folder VRD Pro did display the problem when importing(QSF) into VRD Pro
to a mpg.mpg.

"Ticket or Thread Number: IKW-49646-236" should be where the vob-dvd files are.

If the vob-dvd files did not make it let me know and I'll upload them again.
The upload option would not accept a "folder", only individual files.

Thanks,
jmc

I just checked your uploaded files in the 762a build of VRDPro and both opening the .VOB and doinjg a file open DVD gave the same audio parameters:

Audio Stream: 1 (Primary) Codec : AC3
Format : DVD VOB
Channels : 2.0
Sub stream id : x80
Bit rate : 192 Kbps
Sampling rate : 48000
Sample size : 16 bits

Well, "open title from dvd" is the tricky part...
If I just open the dvd folder it all works.

BUT if you checkbox the "Audio QuickStream Fix"
when you "open title from dvd" from the dvd folder, now you must select a "Profile".

If you select the "MPEG-2 Program Stream" Profile - it fails the audio properties.

You will clearly see the broken audio stream segments in the Thumbnails area.

----------------------------- (just redid all this to make sure -762a Pro)

MPEG-2 Program Stream Profile -Fails audio properties.

Audio Stream: 1 (Primary)
Codec AC3 Format DVD VOB
Channels 3.1 Sub stream id x80
Bit rate 40 Kbps Sampling rate 44100
Sample size 16 bits
------------------------------

If you select the "MPEG-2 Transport Stream" Profile it all works.
------------------------------
MPEG-2 Transport Stream -Works

Audio Stream: 1 (Primary)
Codec AC3 Channels 2.0
Language eng PID x1001
PES Stream Id xBD Bit rate 192 Kbps
Sampling rate 48000 Sample size 16 bits
----------------------------

These two Profiles, MPEG-2 "Program" vs "Transport"..."open title from dvd"
(with QSF checkbox) display the problem between them
and I have not checked any other Profiles.

So unless you "open title from dvd" with the QSF checkbox and
select the "MPEG-2 Program Stream" Profile you will not see the audio error.

Thanks,
