Ch 4 HD often switch the audio from 6ch to 2ch 8 to 10 frames before the end of part, if this audio switch is included in the final video it causes problems with MPC.( audio mutes after switch)
If you let me know the program I will check my source files, and if I have recorded it I will have a look

Thanks .The cuts Where made in side the episode's so nowhere where the adverts are. I post on various celeb vid sites so like the countdown it's just rachel riley. So I can't see the audio switching been around when she is on.

If it is the audio you can see where the switch happens in the thumbnails. In v5 the default is blue for 2ch and yellow for 5ch so you should be able to see in the audio waveform where the switch occurs and if you're leaving any 2ch audio in the output file.

I tried both mpc-be and mpc-hc and I can't reproduce problem with tonights hollyoaks, skip plays each file within the folder without any freezing, the same moving from place to place within the file

You're not using XP are you? The new cutting engine only works on Vista or later so on XP it falls back to the old cutting engine, which could easily have issues like you describe.

It was added for another customer who was having a specific problem with files that had bad SEI NALs. If it's set by default then we need to change it.

SEI are an optional part of the H.264 streams and contain non-video information that assists playback devices in playing video. It can contain things like timing information, captioning (North America), metadata, color conversion matricies, and lots of other stuff. One user had a Blu Ray authoring issue related to the SEI data that was part of the original recording so we added that option for him. (Are you that user I been emailing about it?).

As Dan203 said, that option option should be off. Can other users check their Tools>Options>H.264 page and make sure this it didn't default to on accidentally.
