AVI Editor

Can anyone suggest a decent AVI editor to use until VRD supports it? Single-frame editing capability would be nice....

Thanks.

Sorry, should have been more specific- what I really need is a DivX editor that operates on more or less the same lines as VRD. The two words 'wishful' and 'thinking' keep popping into my head!

Yeah I too would like to know if there are any "frame-accurate" DivX/XviD editors out there--I have not found one myself.

The editors I have found only cut on keyframes, which can be what, 240-300 frames apart?

You do know rayn that this is on the wish-list for VRD? Ok, I guess you know that, but note you should have posted under "Feature Request" or maybe "Other software"... ;)

The best I can think of at the moment, is virtualdub.

There are some others that do it by frameserving (I think) avsedit or something like that. videohelp has a list of them.

I wondered where my post had gone when I looked in 'Support'!

Thanks for the replies. I'm using VDub at the moment and appreciate it's strengths, but after using VRD all other video editors seem clunky and/or prehistoric. At least mpeg4 support is planned for VRD- so that's something to look forward to!
