Would it be possible to have an indicator showing whether the audio associated with the current frame is 2-channel Dolby Digital or 5.1 Dolby Digital?
I just purchased an Onkyo TX-NR905 receiver. Unfortunately, the receiver takes a few seconds to re-sync whenever the audio format changes.
In the SF Bay Area, KPIX (for example), will often have two-channel Dolby Digital sound during commercials, and the main program will be in 5.1 DD. Therefore, I miss a few seconds of audio when a commercial ends and the program resumes. I also have this problem when watching TP files which had commercials removed by VideoRedo if I included a few blank frames that had 2-channel audio.
I brought this problem to Onkyo's attention, and I am hoping they will fix it with a firmware update. However, I thought I might be able to get a little help from VideoRedo.
An small indicator showing whether the current frame is 2-channel or 5.1 would be very helpful. Also, in the thumbnail view, a small indicator on each frame would make it easy to spot the end of the commercial. However, I often have the thumbnail view off, so it would be more important to show the audio format for the current frame.
Even with my old receiver, there was sometimes an audio glitch at cut points. An indication of the audio associated with the frame would increase the quality of the edits.
Thanks for considering this.
