VAP Testing Version With Movie Metadata Search

I used it for quite a while, and I don't remember having issues with it. I'll add it to my current version of VAP at some point but first I need to working some a few small scripts to move files after a video has been processed.

    Feature Requests and Response Status

If you bring up turn windows features on or off then you will see .net 3.5 listed as an option. I believe turning this off helps speed up the PC some and reduces the volume of updates windows will need as I have seen Microsoft patch .net 3.5 specifically. For windows 7 users this change will...

    Feature Requests and Response Status

Is there anyway you could compile this against a newer version of .net so windows 10 users don't have to enable legacy features like .net 3.5 in order to use it?

    VideoReDo-Autoprocessor Program

Is it possible for VAP to move .xml or .nfo files for a given video file after it processes said file. This would be useful for situations where xml or nfo files are written based on guide data instead of TMDB or TVDB lookup. Guide data tends to be a little better at times for programs like...

VAP Testing Version With Movie Metadata Search

I have been using this since about April across a few different PCs. And operating systems. I haven't enabled metadata lookup just yet but that executable still seems to work really well. I want to dig into the metadata lookup as soon as I get a chance. Hopefully before the end of the week.

VAP Testing Version With Movie Metadata Search

That would help and its probably enough to keep most people happy. I don't how many others pay attention to the synopsis, etc. On top of this, if I just added a mkv then i usually just want the easiest way to find it and watch it.

VAP Testing Version With Movie Metadata Search

Sorry for the long wait but here is a small update. Placing the .jpg image in the same folder as the movie may have worked in Vista but it no longer works in win 7. The tutorial on the seven forums suggests using YAMMM, which by itself only provides a synopsis and picture, provided you place...

VAP Testing Version With Movie Metadata Search

Hopefully that works but I'm not sure it will. I have more info to share, so when life slows down a little, hopefully in a day or so, I'll try this out and get back to you. I have tried something similar, and it showed cover art but I could never get cover art AND full metadata. There has...

VAP Testing Version With Movie Metadata Search

I'm still trying this out for my MKVs but I believe I have ran into a recurring issue with these files. Windows Media Center will only display a cover from the WM/Picture field, and it will has to be stored in a byte array. I'm not done testing yet but I have tried file, and web locations, as...

VAP Testing Version With Movie Metadata Search

I hope the pic above clarifies things a little. You can see that in my WMC movie library I have movie names and years included.

VAP Testing Version With Movie Metadata Search

It's easy enough to change my file naming and when I create a new movie file I already have to rename it. I should clarify that WMC movie library has the year and i have something of a backup library that just has movie names which is where I pulled that name from. My wmc library includes the...

VAP Testing Version With Movie Metadata Search

I looked through my current library of movie movie files and they are simply named after the movie so Batman begins.mkv would be an example.

VAP Testing Version With Movie Metadata Search

Thanks for trying this out, and I really appreciate your help. I'm not entirely sure what goes on the in the background when VAP does its thing but I want to make sure I understand it correctly. Before I try this update, I want to say that my current setup with VAP for commercials from works...

    VideoReDo-Autoprocessor Program

I took a look at a sample mkv file that appeared to be pretty typical for my library, and it had a title embeded in it. As an alternative maybe you could grab the file name, exclude any values that aren't a string (This should strip the year, and hopefully special characters) and perform a...

    VideoReDo-Autoprocessor Program

I don't know if anything is embedded when I create my MKVs, and yes I'm only working with Movie files for this project. I'll grab a copy of mkvinfo and check. I can work with you and test things out if your willing to add some features to VAP. Either way, I'll look at MKV info and get back to...

    VideoReDo-Autoprocessor Program

My movies are named with the title, then year in parenthesis so Aliens (1986) for example. Each movie is nested inside of a folder with the same name

    VideoReDo-Autoprocessor Program

I'm considering batch converting about 100 mkvs into DVRMS format for ease of use with my Windows Media Center Extenders. I already have vap installed and working great for TV series, and It seems to do well with movies. My issue is I'm not sure about metadata lookup. Every file VAP has...
